84 KK Michael Anno 1742 The last will and testament of John Kaighin of the Furt who departed this life the 24th December last past being of perfect mind at the making of the same is in manner following: First he committed his soul to God and his body to Christian burial. Item - He left to his eldest son John Kaighin his share of all his houses and gardens and his wife Catherine Kaighin gave her consent if he should have her share of them after her decease; likewise to his said son his lume(loom) and all the gears belonging to it. Item - He left to his youngest son Thomas Kaighin twenty shillings legacy. Item he left his three daughters viz Mary, Cath and Leonora Kaighin sixteen shillings a piece as legacy and to his first wifes's daughter viz Jane Clague als Kaighin five shillings legacy and lastly he appointed his loving wife Catherine Kaighin sole executor of all the rest of his goods moveable and immoveable whatsomeever and this in the presence of us whose names are here written Jan 31 Witnesses: Wm Cain my mark x Mary Curghey her mark x Jurati The widow is sworn executrix in form of law and gives her consent to leave her part of the houses and garden to her son John Kaighin after her decease pledges in form of law John Kewley Clerk and Wm Cain Mutterbeg - said Cain is sworn overseer of the child under age ---.
