This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of MARG
ARET SHIMMIN ALS QUIRK of this parish being of perfect mind 
and memory at the making thereof.  
First, recommended her soul to God and 
her body to Christian burial.  
Item, she bequeathed to her SON ROBERT SHIMMIN 
all her part of the dwelling houses called the 
Whitestone houses together with her part of the 
garden and haggary thereunto belong as also the 
croft called Whitesone Croft.  
Item, to her SON THOMAS QUAYLE twenty 
shillings legacy.  
Lastly, she nominated and appointed her SON 
WILLIAM SHIMMIN sole Executor of all the rest 
of her goods moveable and immoveable whatsoever.  
Witnesses: 
Charles Quayle, 
Henry Clucas.         

AT A COURT OF CORRECTION, 
February 16th, 1745/6
The Executor is sworn in Court in 
form of Law and hath given pledges 
for payment of debts and legacies vizt., 
Nicholas Bridson & Henry Clucas.          

APRIL 23RD, 1748
THOMAS QUAYLE came this day to the Registry 
and acknowledged to have received the 20 
shillings legacy left unto him by the death 
of his MOTHER MARGARET SHIMMIN and does hereby 
acquit and discharge her Executor forever 
for the same.
