42   Rushen 1745
The last will and testament of Richard Taylor of Ballaqueena 
who departed this life the 19th of January A.D. 1745. 
Imprimis, he commended his soul to God and his body to Christian burial. 
Item, he bequeathed to his son Henry all and every of his purchased 
and mortgaged lands and also the crop. 
Item, he bequeathed a quarter part of all the effects that belonged 
to the farm to his son Thomas after the debts and legacies were paid 
provided he should be ruled by his brother Harry’s advice, otherwise 
to have only six pence legacy. 
Item, he bequeathed to his son John six pence legacy. 
Item, he bequeathed to his daughter Jane forty shillings. 
Item, he bequeathed to his daughter Christian ten shillings. 
Item, he bequeathed six apiece legacy to any other person or 
persons that might claim a right of any part or proportion of 
his effects after his decease. 
Lastly, he nominated constituted and appointed his son Henry 
above mentioned sole Executor of all the rest of his goods 
moveable and immoveable. 
Witnesses: 
Henry Gawn senior, 
John Harrison. 

The Executor is sworn in Court in form of Law and hath 
given pledges vizt., Henry Gawn & NIcholas Bridson. 

We Thomas Taylor, Jane Taylor & Christian Qualtrough als Taylor 
three of the within mentioned legatees do hereby acknowledge to 
be fully satisfied for what legacies were bequeathed to us in 
the will of our father Richard Taylor as within specified and do 
hereby fully discharge brother the Executor from any further 
demand on that behalf. Witness our marks to our names this 
26th Feb 1745/6.
