50     KK Bride
This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of WILLIAM 
HOWLAND of the parish of KK Bride who departed this life about 
the 1st of April 1745 and was at perfect mind and memory at 
the making of the same.  First he committed his soul to God and 
his body to a Christian burial.  
Item, he left his part of a heifer to his two DAUGHTERS VIZT., 
KATH: AND ESTHER HOWLAND.  
Item, he left his part of a chest to his SON DANIEL and DAUGHTER 
ELIZABETH and a yearling to his SON DAN: and a ewe lamb to his 
DAUGHTER ELIZ: aforesaid.  
Item, he left the loom and all the instruments thereunto belonging 
to his SON WILLIAM HOWLAND and his apparel to his SON WILLIAM 
also, and the lands he purchased to his said SON WM and the prize 
to his other SON DAN AND DAUGHTER ELIZ abovesaid.   
To the witnesses of the will six pence each.  
Lastly he nominated and appointed his loving WIFE BAHEE HOWLAND 
ALS CAMISH sole Executrix of all the rest of his goods moveable 
and unmoveable who soever.

Christian Howland her X, jurati.          

AT A COURT OF CORRECTION at Lez-Ayre, 
March 4, 1745/6: 
There being a posthume named JONEY, and no provision made for 
her by the Testator, the same is decreed co-Executrix with 
BAHEE HOWLAND ALIAS CAMAISH HER MOTHER.  Whereupon said BAHEE 
together with her DAUGHTER CATHARINE are sworn overseers.  
As also to bring an Inventory to the Registry, And for payment 
of debts and legacies according to Law, pledges are Daniel 
Cormode one of the Witnesses and William Cowle, Sumner.  
Solvit 2s0d, Probatum est.

A PERFECT INVENTORY OF THE GOODS and effects of WILLIAM HOWLAND 
who departed this April ye 1st 1745: 
Item, two pots and a gridiron the children 
part of the dead's good 01s 03d;    
tubs cans piggen[?] and dishes 00:07-1/2;    
a church and a barrel 00:07;    
earthen ware 00:01-1/2;    
baskets 00:01-1/2;    
spades 00:02;    
tongues and sickles 00:01-1/4;    
spoonsall the bed clothes 02:03;    
sacks and sheets 00:03;    
wheels and panniers[?] 00:03;   
one shee and eye 00:09;    
a tub of potatoes 00:03;    
barcley and pewter 05:6;    
oats 00:03;    
This on the childs part.  
Deductions for coffin, ale &: 02:00;    
more in debts 02:7-1/2.            

MAY 12TH 1758
ELIZABETH HOWLAND came this day to the Registry and 
acknowledged to have received at and from the hands 
of her BROTHER WILLIAM HOWLAND her part or moiety of 
the price of the purchased lands as expressed in the 
will of the Testator WILLIAM HOWLAND HER FATHER and 
she does hereby acquit and discharge him said WILLIAM 
HOWLAND HER BROTHER of the same forever.  
Before me, Matths Curghey, Ar.Regr.

THE ABOVE ELIZABETH HOWLAND & CATHERINE HOWLAND 
acknowledged to have received the respective legacies 
bequeathed to them by the Testator their FATHER 
WILLIAM HOWLAND from BAHEE HOWLAND THEIR MOTHER 
and do hereby acquit and discharge her of the same 
before me. Matths.Curghey, Ar.Regr.            

OCTOBER 18TH 1758
DANIEL HOWLAND arrived at lawful years came this day 
to the Registry and acknowledged that he has received 
from his BROTHER WILLIAM HOWLAND his proportion of 
the price of the purchased lands as mentioned in the 
will of the Testator WILLIAM HOWLAND THEIR FATHER and 
does therefore  qcquit and discharge him said WILLIAM 
of the same forever.
