33 Malew
This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of Ellinor
Cain als Quayle of Clycur in the parish of KK Malew who
departed this life about the 20th December Anno Dom. 1746;
she being in perfect memory at making hereof, committed
her soul to God and her body to Christian burial.
Item, she bequeathed unto her nephew James Scoffield five pounds.
Item, to the other four children of Robert Scoffield & Margaret
his wife twenty shillings each if they come to age.
Item, to Margaret Scoffield, Robert Scoffield’s wife a
sheet, a pewter dish, a cow and a small heifer, and a blanket.
Item, to her nephew John Harrison forty shillings to put him to a trade.
Item, to all the rest of the children of Margaret Harrison
ten shillings each excepting Nicholas Harrison.
Item, to her sister Margret Harrison als Quayle a pewter dish.
Item, to Catherine Waterson als Shimmin the house and croft
where she now inhabits, forever and in case the heir will contend
for the said house and croft then and in that case she is to have
half the Intack called the Reast after the decease of her husband
John Cain, besides a sheet.
Item, to the heir half the crop & half the team after the decease
of their said husband[father] John Cain.
Item, to her sisters Margret Harrison & Margret Scoffield
ll her linen and woolen shaped clothes with a few trenchers.
Item, to Robert Waterson son of Robert Waterson a sheep and a lamb.
Item, to Robert Cundrey son of John Cundrey two lambs. And lastly she
nominated constituted and appointed her loving husband John Cain
sole executor of all the rest of her goods & lands moveable &
immoveable whatsoever. Excluding & debarring all friends &
relations sith six pence legacy each, that would claim any
right or title to any part or parcel of her
goods whatsoever.
