6           Malew
The last will and testament of Cathrine Bridson 
of Gibdale in the parish of KK Malew, made in 
April last being in perfect memory at the making 
hereof but sick and weak in body.  
Imprimis, she committed her soul to God, and 
her body to Christian burial.  
Item, to her daughter Cath. Keaney a sheep, and 
her riding hood.  
Item, to her four granddaughters Jane, Margret, 
Easther, & Cath Bridson two sheep equally between them.  
Item, to her grandson Wm Bridson her part of 
the sheep that were between her and her said grandson.  
Item, to her daughter in law Jane Bridson a new 
blanket, and a red petticoat.  
Item, she left to her son & heir John Bridson all 
the right he formerly gave her, out of the land, 
only a potato Butt with the dung land on it she 
left to her daughter Ellinor provided the said 
Ellinor would set the potatoes in it, and barring 
that said Butt, the said John was not to demand 
anything of the said Ellinor, nor she of him.    
Lastly, she nominated and constituted her said 
daughter Ellinor Bridson sole Executrix of all 
the rest of her goods moveable and immoveable 
of what kind soever, debarring all other friends 
and relations of, with six pence legacy each, 
that would claim any right or title to any part 
or parcel of her effects whatever, and this in 
present of us.

Ellinor Bridson the Executrix mentioned in the 
above will is sworn in Court in form of Law and 
hath given pledges for payment of debts and legacies 
namely Mr. John Wattleworth and John Bridson.
