The Last Will & Testament of Joney Cowley
als Cain of KK Michael who departed this life
the 18th day of Feb.ry anno Dom1747 being of
perfect mind & memory at the making hereof
First She committed her Soul to God & Body to
Christian burial -- Item she left unto the Heirs
a plough Beast and an half, together w.th her part
of the Crop & husbandry Gears, her sd. Heirs pay-
ing unto the rest of the Children the sum of three
pounds -- Item she left her Exs. to pay twenty
shills. unto her daughter Mary Cowley together wth.
her shaped Cloathes Linen & Woolen excepting
one Suit of headcloathes to her sister Ellinr. and a
Cap or Ldoif? to her niece Alice Corlet -- Item she
left four yards of the stuff wch. was a making to
her sd. sister Ellinr. she her sd. sister taking Care to
tel and get the same made -- Item she left to Joney Boddaugh
& Cath. Cain a wearing petticoat each -- Item six
pence each to the witnesses and Lastly she nominated
& appointed her beloved husband Patt.Cowley sole
Exr. of all the rest of her Goods movable & immo-
vable whatsoever, leaving six pence Legacy to all

At a Chapter Court held at KK Michael 27th May 1767
I Mary Cowley Daughter of Joney Cowley als Cain
late of the Parish of KK Michael do hereby acknowledge
that I have recd.at & from the hands of Margt.Cowley
Relict & Widow of Patrick Cowley who was Exer. of the last
Will & Testamt. of Joney my mother, as also from John
Cowley my Brother, which sd. John & Margt. were Execs.
of the sd. Patrick Cowley my father the Sum of Twenty
Shillings, being the primary Legacy left & bequeathed
to me by my sd. mother Joney & payable unto me by my
said father Patrick Cowley My Brother do also hereby acknowledge
to have recd. at & from the hands of our Brother John Cowley
the Sum of three pounds which was left & bequeathed unto
us by our said mother Joney Cowley as Specified in her last Will --
and we do Each of us the sd. Mary & David Cowley hereby
Release acquit & discharge the above Margt. Cowley and John
Cowley their Execs. Adms. & Assigns of the above mentioned
Legacies for ever -- As witness our marks to our names this
27th May 1767 -- Mary Cowley my mrk. X
