This is affirmed to be the last will and 
testament of Joney Faragher als Quirk of 
the parish of KK Andrews who departed this 
life the 26th of December 1747, being of 
sound mind and memory at the making thereof.  
Imprimis, she committed her soul to God, 
and body to Christian burial.  
Item, she bequeathed her part of the meadow 
in the Lane to pass as inheritance to her 
son Patrick along with the estate, in 
consideration whereof her said son is to pay 
six pounds funeral money to her executors 
together with another parcel of Land called 
Block-arey which is also to pass as inheritance 
to her said son Patrick with the estate for the future.  
Item, she left to her son Patrick her part 
of the mortgage money incumbent upon a parcel 
of Land called Crott-ne-Laggagh, together 
with a quarter part of the crop that is now 
in the Haggard, her part of three oxen, her 
part of the gray horse, her part of the black 
mare, and her share of the colt that was cut 
in summer, with three sheep, a blanket, being 
xxxx another as her son Thomas brought to 
Ramsey, her part of the husbandry gears, 
her part of the household stuff vizt., of 
the barrels, tubs, and of the small vessels, 
and as much of the russet as will make him a coat.  
Item, she left the profits of Cowle’s gardens, 
and of the Lough to her son Patrick till 
they be redeemed, and after the redemption 
the paid mortgage money is to return to her 
executors.  
Item, she bequesthed to her son William 
four daymoths of land in a parcel called 
Close-hom, and two daymoths to her son 
Thomas in the said ground, and to this 
her husband Philip Faragher has given his 
consent to let his said sons have his right 
thereof also after his decease.  
Item, she left her part of a parcel called 
Close-ne-Knappan to her son William.  
Item, she left her part of the money in 
Boley-Gell to her son Thomas, and also her 
part of the money in Knock-maur-fineal.  
Item, she left her part of the brown mare a 
colt to her husband, with the bed whereon 
she lay as it then was.  
Item, she left three shillings legacy to 
James Faragher senior.  
Item, she left a petticoat to xxxx [?Smeal’s] wife 
and a petticoat to Mack-Sayle’s wife.  
And her linen and woolen clothes that are 
shaped she left equally between Bahee Cormoad, 
and Catharine Faragher.  
Item, William Quirk one of the witnesses of 
the Will declares further that the Testatrix 
left twenty shillings and a firlet of barley 
to the poor of the parish.  
Lastly, she nominated and appointed her two 
sons William and Thomas Faragher joint and 
lawful executors of all the rest of her goods 
moveable and unmoveable whatsoever.  T

At a Court of [blank]: 
William and Thomas Farragher are sworn Executors 
in form of Law, and have given pledges for payment 
of debts and legacies namely Daniel Tear and Philip 
Tear Lord.  Philip Faragher the widower gives his 
consent to the bequest of the Lands of Close-ho 
as expressed in the will, and the executors consent 
to the payment of 20s legacy and a firlet of barley 
to the poor.

We William Fargher & Thomas Fargher of the parish 
of KK Andrews do hereby acknowledge this day to 
have received the sum of six pounds current money 
from our brother Patrick Fargher being left unto us 
in the will of our mother Joney Fargher als Quirk 
bearing date at a Court of Correction at Lezayre, 
February 15th 1747, in consideration of her part 
of the meadow in the Lane as expressly mentioned 
in said Will, for which this shall be his discharge 
for the future as witness our names and marks this 
3rd December 1748.
