7 Braddan In the name of God, amen. Gilbert Hampton weaver of the town of Douglas, being sick in body but of sound and perfect memory having made this his last will and testament thie second day of April 1748 in manner following vizt.: First he committed hie soul to God an dhis body to be decently interred. Item, he left and bequeathed to his son Robert Hampton all his clothes excepting a black waistcoat and breeches which he left to Daniel Cannell of KK Conchan. He likewise left his son Robert a piece of woolen cloth which lay in his chest and the money he lent him he left and bequeathed to himself. Item, he left to his stepson Philip Lewin his loom and all things belonging thereto if he would xxxx of them, and if not he left them to his son Robert. Item, the Testator said that thought he was upon his death bed, he left all his grandchildren twenty shillings to be divided amongst them. Item, he left his well beloved wife all what was under her own hand besides his part of all the corn and a cow and the pasture to be set to help to maintain her while she lived. He likewise ordered that the horse should not be hindered from her after any occasion. Lastly, he left his son Nicholas all his other goods moveable and immoveable whatsoever. In testimony whereof the witnesses hereunto set their hands this 5th Day of Aril 1768. Witnesses Christopher Callow my mark X Thomas Clark my mark X, jurati.
