This is affirmed to be the last will and 
testament of Margaret Quirk of Lamel in 
the parish of German, who departed this 
life about the first of April 1749, being 
of sound mind and memory at the making hereof. 
First, she committed her soul to God 
and body to Christian burial. 
2ndly, she bequeathed to her son Thomas 
Quirk half a heifer and as much fine linen 
as would make a shirt. 
3rdly, she bequeathed to her two daughters 
Ann Fargher & Margaret Shimmin all her shaped 
clothes both linen and woolen equally between them. 
4thly, she bequeathed to her grandchildren 
John and Ann Quirk a sheep each. 
5thly, she bequeathed to her son William 
Quirk her part of the crop, chargeable 
with ten shillings to be paid to her Executor. 
She also bequeathed a shilling to each 
of the witnesses of this her will. 
Lastly, she nominated & appointed her 
son Philip Quirk sole Executor of all 
her effects moveable and immoveable 
and excluded all persons that should 
claim any right to her goods with six 
pence legacy.
