I John Cosnahan Vicar of KK Braddan and one of the vicars General of this isle do make this my last Will and Testament. [I commit] my body to a Christian burial in or near the tomb of my fathers in KK Santan Churchyard. First . . . to my son Hugh all my concern in Douglass, if he should die without issue, to the Revd Joseph Cosnahan, our dutiful and obedient son. . . 2ndly to my son in law Robert Brown . . . Item: to my daughter Katharine 5 pounds and do recommend her with my other daughter to the good will of my loving wife. Item: to my daughter Ellinor, 50 pounds and the like sum to my daughter Ann. Lastly, appoint my son the Revd Joseph Cosnahan executor of all the rest of my goods, he giving to his Mother all his part of Ballavilla corn . . . 1st June 1749, signed John Cosnahan.
