We John & Grace Black of Ramsey
being weak in body but of perfect mind & memo=
=ry thanks be to God do make our last Will &
Testament in manner Following
[Imp]p. We leave our Souls to God in hopes of a joyfull
resurrection through the Merits of our Saviour
& our Bodys to a Christian Burials & as for such
Worldly goods as god has been pleased to Bless us
with We leave & dispose of in form &
Manner following_____
[2ndly] We leave to the poor of the Town of Ramsey &
parish of Kirk Maughold Three pounds
[3r]d We leave to our Daughter Margret Black the sum
of Sixty pounds including the Legacy left to her
by her Brother Hugh's Will with [……….]
feather bed & ye use of the Bruing Pann dureing
her life & after her decease to fall & become the
property of our son John Black___
…d We leave to our Daughters Ann Martin Eliz. Flaxney
& Jean Christian fifteen pounds each__
..ly We leave to our daughter Grace Christian forty
pounds & a dish and to her Son Edward five pounds
..ly We leave to our two Grandaughters Ann & Grace
Martin's five pounds each___
..ly We leave to our Grandson Hugh Black a parcell
of meadow land in the third Beneath the Burn
ly We leave to all the rest of our Grandchildren a
Crown each & to our Cous: Diana Nipe twenty__
Shillings to our Cous: Jean Christian Five Shillings
& to the Witnesses of this Our Will a Crown each
& lastly We nominate Constitute & apoint Our
only & loving Son John Black whole & Sole Execr_
of all the Rest of our goods of what nature or kind
soever Ratifying & confirming this & no other
to be Our last Will & Testament in Witness where
We have hereunto set our hands & marks the
18th January 1744/5
Not before the signing hereof that the Whole of
Effects is to fall & decend to the Survivor of us
John & Grace Black & after the death of the
Surviver without Any Embazlement or dise
