In the name of God amen. The last will & testament
of Christian Lawson als Quark, wife of Richard Lawson of
Douglass who departed this Life on the 16th of October
1750 is as
followeth.
Being of perfect mind an memory, first she commended
her Soul to God, and next her mortal body to the Earth and
to be Buried after a Christian and decent manner; and as
for such wordly goods as it had pleased God to endow her
with she left and bequeathed them in the following manner.
Imprimis. She left and bequeathed unto Averick Taggart & Alice
Kelly of Douglass being tow poor women each a white petticoat.
Item she left unto the poor of the Town the sum of Twenty
shillings that is due from the Wardens of Douglass Chappel
to John Kelly her former husband for his office of a Clark in
the said chappel, which is to be distributed by her Executor &
husband Richard Lawson as he shall think propper.
Item she left and bequeathed equally between her f... sisters
all her shaped apparrel both wolen and Linnen, and particular=
=ly a small bit of Tichin to her sister Isable.
Item she left and bequeathed to Widow Cottiman a piece of blew
linnen cloth as much as would be .. her an apron.
Item she left and bequeathed unto Cathrine Kelly daughter to her
former husband on brass candlestick and of her best white
gowns.
Item she left and bequeathed her shoes unto her brother's daughter

Item she left unto her said husband all her rights of the dewlling
house and the concerns thereof wherein they dwelt, during his
own natural Life, and aftward to desend to her sister Margaret
wife of Thomas Fargher, and in such manner, that she may
dispose of the said house and concerns in her last will and
testament unto whomsoever she shall think propper.
Item she left and bequeathed to any relations that can make
any legal claim to any of her effects six pence Legacy.
And lastly she left and bequeathed unto Richard Lawson her
said husband all the rest of her effects, and nominated,
Constituted and ordained him her Sole Executor of all belonging
to her moveable and immoveable.
