53             Kk Bride
This is affirmed to be the last will and testament 
of Cathrin Kneale (of Curraugh beg) in the parish 
of KK Bride as follows:  First, She committed her 
soul to God and body to Christian burial.  
Itm, She left the crop team and husbandry gears 
to her grandson William Kneale which is to be in 
his Father’s hands until it pleases his sd Father to 
give them him.  Itm, She left to her grandaughter 
Cathrin Goldsmith a yeard of linnin cloth.  
Itm, She left to her brother’s daughter Cath: 
Kneale one yeard of linnin cloth.  Itm, She left 
to her two daughters and daughter in law vit., 
Margt Claitor, Christian Goldsmith and Elinor Kneale 
all her sheaped apperall both wollin and linnin 
equally betwixt them.  Itm, She left to her grandson 
Phillip Radcliffe as much pledden as would be a 
wast coate.  Itm, She left to her two grandchildren 
Elinor and Ann Kneale a sheep and lamb each.  
Itm, She left to her maide servt Joney Kneale an 
old peddicoate.  Itm, She declared that she lent 
her daughter Christian Goldsmith twenty shillings 
which twenty shillings she left equally betwixt her 
two daughters Margret and Christian.  Itm, She 
left to her son Patt: which is a broad six pence 
legacy if he would come for it.  Lastly she nominated 
and appointed her dutyfull son William Kneale 
sole and whole Execr of all the rest of her goods 
movable and immovable whatsoever and to the 
witnesses of this her last will she left twelve pence 
each.  William Kneale her husband consents to give 
all his goods and effects intirely to be given as 
mentioned in his foresd wife’s last will and testament 
only reserving two sheep and lambs to be given 
his two daughters as legacy after his decease.

At a Consistory Court at Lezayre, June 12th 1754:  
The Execr is sworn in Court in form of Law and hath 
given pledges for paymt of debts and legacy’s vizt., 
John Cowle & Wm Crow the witness.  
William Kneal the husband to the testatrix has given 
his consent that all his goods and effects shall descend 
after his decease as more fully expressed in the 
within will.  And Wm Kneal the execr engages to 
settle upon his son & heir William Kneal the crop 
team and husbandry gears mentioned in the within 
will in kind when he arrives at the age of twenty one 
years or on whoever shall be heir of his estate to 
which he has given pledges ut supra.
