   The last will and testament of John Martin of
   Knockadoony & parish of KK Andreas who
   departed this life ye 26th Decr last past, and
   was of perfect mind & memory at the making
   of it.
First He comitted his soul to God, and body to
   Christian burial.
Itm He bequeath'd that his son John was to have all
   his part of the Lands which they bought, &
   his wife Joney Martin consented that he their
   sd son John was to have her part of the acre
   after her decease. Itm He will'd that his sd son
   John was to give his two brothers Philip and
   Nicholas Martin eight pounds each and also
   sheep that was named on themselves.
Itm To his daughter Ann he left sixteen pounds
Itm To his loving wife he left a hiefer which they called
   Gissy and also her own part of Ballnahown's
   Curragh to be after her ow disposing.
Itm He bequeathed that his wife & his son John was to pay
   to Catherine Lawson ten pounds that is to say five
   pounds each due to her by his former wife's will.
Itm He will'd that his sd son John was to take care of
   his forsd two brothers to send them to be coopers.
Itm He said that his wife was Exectx of her mother Ann.
Itm He left six pence legacy to any that would claim
   in his will.
Lastly he nominated & appointed
   his said son & heir John Martin his lawfull
   Execr of all the rest of his goods moveable &
   immovable whatsover. To the witnesses of
   this will he left 12d each.

At a Court of Correction at Lezayre Feb 25 1755
John Martin the son is sworn Execr in
Court in form of Law & hath given pledges
for paymt of debts & legacies namely
pledges are Danl Tear & Thos Tear the witnesses.
Joney the widow consents that her part of the
acre shall descend to the heir of the estate
after her decease - sd John undertakes the
tuition of the children & their goods & is sworn
supervisor in form of Law.

Know all men by these presents that I Gilbt Kermod
of KK Andreas do hereby acknowledge to have received
the full & just sum of ten pounds at, by & from the hands
of John Martin Exr of his father John Martin of KK Anbdreas
late deceased, the same being a Legacy unto me bequeathed
by the deceased afforesd, for which sum I hereby acquitt
and discharge the abovesaid Executor for the same.
Witness my name and mark this 4th day of March 1755.
