50   KK Andrews 1755
The last will and testament of James Radcliffe 
of Belfast and parish of KK Andrews, who 
departed this life in March last past, and 
was in perfect and sound mind and memory 
at the making of it. First, he recommended 
his soul to God and body to Christian burial. 
Item, to his son John he left and bequeath 
all his estate of lands and houses, the 
one half to be possessed by him after 
his decease and the other half after 
his wife’s decease to posses as inheritance 
to which is said wife fully consented to 
give her right to the aforesaid lands 
and houses (after her decease) to her 
aforesaid son as above set forth. 
Item, to his said son John he left 
his own half of all their moveable 
goods, meaning that his wife should 
have full half along with his said son. 
Item, to his aforesaid wife Mary 
Radcliff he left the grop’ed chest. 
Item, to Joney & her child he left 
ten shillings legacy and ten shillings 
to Ann & her child. Ten shillings to 
James & ten shillings to Thomas. 
Item, the sheep in KK Michael to his 
grandson Harry & to Ann’s child 
equally betwixt them. Lastly he 
nominated and appointed his aforesaid 
son John Radcliff his lawful executor 
of all the rest of his goods moveable 
and unmoveable whatsoever. To this 
witnesses of this will he left ten 
pence each.

Thomas Radcliff, 
John Lawson. 

At a Chapter Court held at 
Lezayre June 16th, 1755, 
The executor is sworn in court in form 
of Law and the widow has given her consent 
that her right of the houses and lands 
shall descend after her decease to her 
son John as more fully expressed in the 
within will. Pledges according to Law 
are Wm Tear & Thomas Radcliffe the witnesses of the will
