The last will and testament of Philip Faragher 
of Cassmullin and parish of KK Andrews who 
departed this life about the latter-end of 
April last past and was in perfect and sound 
mind and memory at the making of it.  
First, he bequeathed to his goddaughter and 
grandchild Joney his son Thomas’s daughter 
four pounds legacy.  
To his grandchild Patrick’s son William he 
bequeathed a lamp legacy, a lamb to his son 
William’s son Philip, and a lamb to his son 
Thomas’s son namely Jon if there be any lambs 
to the fore.  
Item, to the Revd Mr. Mylrea he bequeathed 
an English crown for preaching his funeral sermon.  
Item, to Mr. Cowley clerk he bequeathed an 
half crown piece.  
Item, to his son Patrick he bequeathed a 
shirt of fin linen cloth.  
Item, he bequeathed forty shillings to be 
expended to his funeral charges.  
He nominated and appointed his sons Thomas 
and William Faragher his lawful executors 
of all the rest of this goods moveable and 
immoveable whatsoever still provided that 
the one half xxxxx executorship is already 
passed over to his said son William by 
contract bargain was to be understood and 
taken by him as his dividend and share of 
this executorship hereby bequeathed him, 
but in case he offers to sue for any part 
of his goods by virtue of said Contract 
Bargain that then he is to be deprived from 
having any benefit by this will.  
Item, he willed the forty shillings by him 
reserved out of his said son William’s 
Contract Bargain to be by him paid wholly 
to his foresaid son Thomas’s daughter upon 
his part of the aforesaid four pounds 
Legacy bequeathed her and her father to 
pay them the other forty shillings upon 
his part.  To the witnesses of this will he 
bequeathed 10d each.

At a Chapter Court holden 
at Lezayre July 8, 1762: 
William Fargher one of the Executors named in 
the within Will having refused in Court to be 
sworn co-executor, Thomas Fargher the other 
Executor named in the said Will is thereupon 
sworn Executor in Court in form of Law, and 
hath given pledges for the payment of debts 
and legacies namely Thomas Radcliffe of 
BallaRadcliffe and James Wade both of KK 
Andrews the Witnesses of the Will.
