3   KK Santan
I Richard Taggart of KK St Ann, being very weak in 
body, but of sound and perfect memory, doth freely 
make this my last will and testament, revoking and 
annulling all other former will or wills heretofore 
made on or done by me, this done on the 17th of 
Novr 1763, in manner following in presence of us the 
subscribing witnesses: 
First, He committed his soul to God and his body to 
Christian burial. 
Item, he left and bequeathed to his brother William 
twenty shillings and his coat of black and blue as legacy. 
Item, he left to his brother Nicholas his best suit 
of clothes as legacy. 
Item, he left to his brother David ten shillings as 
legacy. 
Item, he left to his loving mother a cupboard that 
he had in Ballasalley and his fiddles, and blankets, 
a quilt and fourteen shillings which Robert Cowle 
senior owed him, and half a guinea which Wm Quayle 
of KK Malew owed him with all the money that he gave 
her out of his own hand. 
Item, he left six pence legacy to any other of his 
brethren or relation that might crave the law any 
right or title to his said effects. 
Lastly, he nominated, constituted and appointed his 
loving father whole and sole executor of all the rest 
of his goods, moveable and immoveable whatsoever.

At Court of Correction holden at 
Castletown 15 Feb 15, 1764, 
Nicholas Taggart the father is sworn executor in Court 
in form of Law and has given pledges for payment of 
debts and legacies, namely Thomas Fargher of Cooil-cam 
in Malew and Davie Coole in KK Santan
