67    KK Patrick
This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of 
Catherine Taggert wife to Robert Taggert of KK Patrick 
made this 13th of November 1764. She being in perfect 
mind and memory at the making thereof. First, she committed 
her soul to Almighty God and her body to Christian burial. 
Item, she left and bequeathed unto her son John Taggert 
all her parts of her houses and lands to be possessed by 
him after her decease together with her part of the plow, 
irons, harrows and spades, and her part of the crop. 
Item, she left unto her daughter Margret Taggert the sum 
of six pounds. 
Item, she left unto her said daughter Margt. Her part of 
all the goods and effects that is within the house and 
her part of two cows. Item, she left unto her son Robert 
Taggert the sum of one guinea and a coverlet, a blanket, 
a fine sheet, and a coarse sheet, the said clothes to be 
paid out of the goods that is left unto her daughter Margret. 
Lastly, she nominated and appointed her said son John 
Taggert whole and sole Executor of all the best of her 
goods moveable and unmoveable of what kind soever. 
The above written Robert Taggert doth consent to this will 
by the signing thereof to leave unto his said son John 
Taggert all his part of the houses and lands free and 
debtless without any incumbrances after his decease. He 
the said John Taggert binding himself to pay and discharge 
all the debts and incumbrances that is at this present 
time on the said Robert Taggert his father for the said 
lands and houses aforesaid. Likewise he the said John 
Taggert doth oblige himself to pay unto his said father 
Robert Taggert the sum of four pounds on demand.

At a Chapter Court holden at 
Balnyhown, June 21, 1765
The Executor is sworn in Court in form of Law 
and has given pledges for payment of debts and 
legacies, namely John Quirk & Hugh Shimin both 
of KK Patrick and Robert Taggart the father 
had given his consent that his part of the lands 
shall descend unto his son John Taggart after 
his decease as more fully expressed within and 
above and on the terms therein mentioned. 

We Matthias Cannell of the Parish of KK Patrick 
and Margaret Cannell als Taggart my wife daughter 
of the within named Testatrix Catharine Taggart 
do hereby acknowledge to have received from our 
brother John Taggart the Executor of the within 
Will by the hands of his wife Elizabeth Taggart 
the full sum of six pounds legacy left and 
bequeathed unto the said Margaret by her said
 mother Catharine Taggart, and we do hereby acquit 
 and discharge the said John Taggart his Executors 
 Administrators and Assigns of the said sum of 
 six pound legacy forever. Witness our marks to 
 our names this 13th August 1766.
