This being the last will and testament of Joney Fairbrother als Quark 
of Peeltown, who departed this life about the 24th of February 1766, 
being in perfect mind and memory at the making or uttering thereof. 
First, committing her soul to Almighty God and her body to Christian burial. 
2ndly, she left and bequeathed to her son John Fairbrother all her 
right to her house adjoining the Church yard, also her right to that 
field belonging to her called by the name of KnockBane, and that 
Thomas Cowley was to give him seed corn this year to sew the same. 
Item, she left to her niece Mary Cowley als Cowil the one half of 
her new dwelling house, and the backside thereto adjoining, and 
the other half thereof she left to her said son John Fairbrother 
during his natural life, and after his decease the same was to 
return and descend unto the said Mary Cowley als Cowil forever. 
And her said son and niece to pay equally what debts is already on 
said house. Also she left to her said niece all her goods what was 
in the said dwelling house. And if her said son was pleased to take 
some of said goods in the house let him take it. 
Item, she left to her said niece Mary Cowley all her right to 
that field called Close-Beg, which Close-Beg she was to have for 
the goods due her by her mother’s decease. 
Item, she left to her sister’s daughter Margaret Kewley as much 
stuff as would make her a gown. Item, she left to little John Gell 
that was along with her said son a sheep and a lamb. 
Item, she left a heifer to her son John Fairbrother for her 
funeral and burial expense. 
Lastly, she nominated and appointed her said son John Fairbrother 
to be her Executor, and excluding all other persons that might 
claim further right to her goods with six pence legacy apiece.
