The Last Will & Testament of William Qualtrough
who departed this Life about the 18th Day of July Anno predictos

First he commended his soul to Almighty God & his 
body to Christian burial.

Also he bequeathed all his concerns in land to his son
John Qualtrough, subject to the sum of ten pounds to be
paid to his son William Qualtrough in consideration of 
the great cost the Testator was at in building houses 
upon the said land.

Also he bequeathed to his said son William ten pounds 
more and his part of a certain Intack called Kirkit.

Also he bequeathed to Catherine Kinvig als Qualtrough the
sum of five shillings

Also he bequeathed to Joney Gell two Kishons of
oat-meal.

Also he bequeathed to the Poor of the Parish a bowle
of barley, to be paid before Easter next.

Lastly, he nominated, constituted and appointed his
loving wife Margaret Qualtrough als Crebbin  sole Execr of
all the rest of his Goods, moveable & immoveable; and also
the tuition of his children before mentioned to be at the
disposal of his said wife till they arrived at lawful years,
and also if the said children died his goods to fall to his
said Execr.

At a Chapter Court holden in Castletown Novr 9th 1768

The Excr is sworn in Court in form of Law & has the Tuition 
of the Children & their Goods pursuant to the Will – she has 
given Pledges for payment of Debts & Legacies, namely Henry
Qualtrough & John Cashin, John Kegg & John Crebbin both
of Rushen; Henry Qualtrough & John Cashin uncles of the
Children are sworn Guardians & Supervisors in form of 
Law.

At KK Malew 1st Decr 1781

John Qualtrough of the Parish of KK Christ Rushen having
arrived at the age of fourteen years and having chosen Mr 
Wm Qualtrough & John Qualtrough his step-father both of said
Parish of Rushen as & for his Guardians – said Wm Qualtrough 
& John Qualtrough are therefore sworn to execute the Office
of Guardian in all Matters & things relating their Ward
according to Law.
