This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of 
Thomas Bridson, Ballaquicken, who departed this life 
on or about the 19th day of January [1769], being of 
sound and disposing mind and memory at the making thereof.  
First, he committed his soul to God and his body to Christian burial.  
Item, he bequeathed to the poor of the parish ten 
or eleven shillings, which sum is in the hands of 
widow Crebbin, either to be distributed to the most 
needy of them, or to be added to the money belonging 
to the poor of said parish.  
Item, he bequeathed to his grandsons Arthur & Thomas 
Bridson, Boltane, a colt.  
Item, he bequeathed to his granddaughter Cathrine Nelson 
three pounds Manks, a rugg & a blanket.  
Item, he bequeathed to his son Daniel Bridson his 
part of the house[?] & garden situate in Castletown, 
and two of his best suit of clothes.  
Item, he bequeathed to his grandson & granddaughter 
Paul & Jane Bridson, Ballaquicken, the gray mare.  
Item, he bequeathed to his grandsons Robert & Paul Corran 
a yearling or a lamb each.  
Item, he bequeathed to his granddaughters Elizabeth & 
Isabel Nelson a yearling or lamb each.  
Item, he bequeathed to his granddaugh Anne Bridson, Boltane, 
a yearling or a lamb.  
Item, he bequeathed to his daughter Cathrine Br(idson) 
but what she had already received.  
Lastly, he consitited and appointed his two sons in law 
Stephen Nelson & Paul Corran whole and joint executors 
of all the rest of his good and effects moveable and 
immovable of what kind nature or denomination so ever.

At a Court of Correction holden at Ballnyhowin 1st March 1769, 
the executors are sworn in Court in form of law and 
have given pledges for the payment of debts and 
legacies namely, Thomas Moore & John Fargher the 
witnesses of the will, both of Santon.
