This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of [James]
Kermod of the parish of KK Lonnan who Departed this [life on]
or abt 26th August 1769 he being then sick and weak [of body]
but of perfect mind & memory at the making thereof . First
he committing his soul to God and Body to Christian burial a
nd as to his worldly Effects he bequeathed them in manner
following. He left and bequeathed all his shaped cloathes
Equally between his Three sons, namely Thos, James & William.
Itm he left his Loom with all its materials to his said son
Thomas in case he would follow his Trade but in Default
thereof the same to be wholly at his wife’s Disposal. [Itm]
he left a Crown apiece to his Two Daughters namely Mar…
& Joney – he further left six pence Legacy to any
person or persons that would claim any Right to his effects.
Lastly he Revoking all other wills made words or Intentionally
uttered. Declared this to be his last will and testament and
nominated and appointed therein his Loving wife Jane
Kermod whole & sole executrix of all the rest and residue
of his goods and chattels of what kind of Denomination soever.
he further appointed if any part of the Lands should remain
undisposed of after his said wife’s Decease the same to be [in…]
by one of the children begotten by him with his said wife
to which she freely consented.
Postscrip: he left a shilling apiece to the witnesses of this will
