This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of Ellinor Cowley
alias Corlet wife of John Cowley of the miln in the parish of Ballaugh
who departed this life on or about the 15th day of this instant month of May
1770 being of sound mind and memory at the making thereof some few days
before her decease.
First:   She committed her soul to God and her body to Christian burial.
Item:  She left to her two daughters namely Ann and Isabell Cowley nine
pounds a piece and afterwards willed all her apparel linnen and woolen
to her said two daughters and desired that none of her said apparel
should be appraised and she left her brother Patrick Corlett and her
sister Margaret Corlett to look over and take care of her said two
children.
Lastly:   She nominated and appointed her loving husband John Cowley
sole and whole executor of all the rest of her worldly goods and chattels
moveable and immoveable of what nature soever.

At a Chapter court holden at KK Michael 21st May 1770.  The executor is
sworn in court in form of law and hath given pledges for payment of
debts and legacies, the tuition and maintenance of the deads part of the
children are committed to the executor, their father, pledges are Thos
Crellin one of the witnesses and Patrick Corlett who is also sworn
supervisor.


Ann and Isabel Cowley two daughters of the testator acknowledge to
have received from John Cowley the executor the sum of nine pounds
each with the apparel bequeath to them respectively and hereby exonerate,
acquit, and discharge the said executor his executors, admors and assigns of
the same and every part thereof.  Witness their marks affixed to their names
this 27th April 1795.
