This is affirmed to be the Last Will and Testament of Isabel Key alias Kelly wife to Charles Key of
Kirk Patrick who departed this life about the first day of November 1769. Being in perfect mind
and memory at the making thereof – First, she committed her Soul to Almighty God and her Body
to Christian Burial.
Item: She left unto her brothers wife Jane Kelly a black quilted petty coat.
Item: She left unto her brothers son John Kelly as much padding cloth as would make him a waste
coat and a pair of breeches, and as much as would make him a shirt of coarse linnon cloth.
Item: She left unto her sisters daughter Isabel Bridson her best chequer Apron.
Item: She left unto her sister Margaret Cubbon all the clothes she had on her at the making of this
Will.
Item: She left unto her daughter Isabel Key the sum of eight pounds and a little spinning wheel.
Item: She left unto her said daughter all the rest of her apparel both linnon and woollen or the sum
of Thirty shillings. That is to say, if she was not to get the said apparel, she was to get the sum of
Thirty Shillings.
Lastly she nominated and appointed her loving husband Charles Key to be whole and sole Executor
of all the rest of her goods moveable and immoveable.
(cannot read this section) said Charles Key to have the whole Tuition and Guardianship of her said
daughter Isabel Key himself.

At a consistory Court holden at Peel town 8th February the Executor is sworn in court in form of
Law, the tuition and maintenance of the child underage is committed to the Executor ? ? to the
Will and Henry Kelly uncle to the child by the mothers side is sworn Guardian by ? of the
Executor. Pledges for payments of Debts and Legacies are Thos. Quane one of the Witnesses
Henry Kelly the Guardian.
