2     Braddan
In the name of God, Amen. I Peter Moore of 
Douglas in the Isle of Mann, being of sound 
and disposing mine, memory, reason and 
judgment, and shortly hereafter intending a 
voyage to the West Indies, therefore in 
order to prevent troubles that may hereafter 
arise about my estate and effects do make 
this my last will and testament in manner 
and form following, that is to say, first, 
I recommend my sould to God who gave it 
and my corpse to be interred in the 
most Christian like manner that the place 
where my death may happen will admit of, 
and as for what worldly estate and effects 
wherewith god hath blessed me, I give, 
leave and bequeath the same as follows: 
I order payment to be made of all my must 
debts so far as my effects will extend, 
and as forall the rest, residue and remainder 
of all my houses, lands, gardens, estate 
real or personal, goods, chattles and effects 
of every … and kind that I am or may be 
entitled unto either in law or equity, 
I give, leave and bequeath the same to 
my dearly beloved sister Hester Crebbin 
now the wife of William Crebbin of 
Douglas, merchant, and to her husband 
the said William and their assigns 
forever and I hereby declare null and 
void all former and other will or wills 
by me made, and this only to be an remain 
my last will and testament. And lastly 
I hereby name, constitute and appoint 
the said William Crebbin and Hester 
his wife my lawfull sister or the 
survivor of them whole and sole 
executors of this my last will and 
testament. I leave to every person 
who can lawfully charge and prove 
the same six pence legacy and no more. 
In witness whereof I have hereunto 
set my hand and seal this ninth day 
of December in the year of our Lord 
one thousand seven hundred and sixty seven.

At a Court of Correction holden over 
Douglas 28th January 1771, 
the executor is sworn in court in form 
of law and hath given pledges for payment 
of debt and legacies vizt, Mr John … 
of Castletown and George Oates of KK Onchan
