The last will and testament of MARY MYLECHARAINE 
ALS KEWISH who departed this life about 23rd of 
March Anno predicto, being of perfect mind and 
memory at the making hereof.  She committed her 
soul to God and her body to Christian burial.  
She bequeathed to her three DAUGHTERS vizt., 
CATHERINE, MARY, AND ANNE two pounds ten 
shillings each as legacies.  
The Testator willed that these legacies before 
mentioned are to be kept and reserved in the 
father's hands and to remain therein without 
paying interest for the same until the 
foresaid children come to age; likewise she 
willed the children to her husband's care.  
She left to her DAUGHTER CATH: her little 
spinning wheel and her mantle.  She left to 
her SISTER JANE CAIN ALS KEWISH her domminy 
if JANE HER SISTER would giver her DAUGHTER 
MARY a good mantle for the same.  She left 
to her SISTER ISABEL KEWISH a quilted petticoat.  
She left to her SISTER ANN a leased head cap.  
She left to her THREE DAUGHTERS before 
mentioned all her shaped clothes woolen and 
linen to clothe and cover her said daughters 
as they stand in need of the same.  She 
excluded all claimers with six pence legacy.  
And lastly she nominated constituted and 
appointed her beloved HUSBAND EDWARD MYLECHARAINE 
whole and sole Executor of all the rest of 
her worldly effects whatsoever.

AT A CHAPTER COURT holden at 
KK Michael 31st May 1771
The Executor is sworn in Court in form of 
Law and undertakes the tuition and maintenance 
of the children pursuant to the will, 
PHILIP CAIN AND ISABEL KEWISH UNCLE AND 
AUNT OF THE ORPHANS are sworn guardians, 
pledges for the payment of debts and legacies 
are Thomas Callister and John Callister, 
both of Jurby.  
Probatum est, Solvit 12d. Ja:Wilks, 
Joh:Moore, 
Thos.Cubbon.        

Note that ANNE THE YOUNGEST CHILD died 
since the death of the Testatrix.            

WE DOLLIN MOORE HUSBAND OF CATH. MYLCHARANE &PATRICK BREW HUSBAND OF MARY MYLCHARANE two 
of the within named legatees do hereby 
acknowledge to have received and to be 
lawfully paid the respective legacies of 
two pounds ten shillings each bequeathed 
to our respective wives and do acquit 
release and discharge the Executor 
EDWARD MYLCHARANE of all claims and 
demands on account of the same witness 
our marks to our names this 7th June 17x2,
