Jurby 1773
This is the last will and testament of Margaret Caine als Kelly of the
parish of Jurby who departed this life about the 13th July 1773 being at
perfect and sound mind and memory at the making of it.
First she committed her soul to God and body to a Christian burial.
Item: She left and bequeathed to her two daughters Mary and Margaret Caine
twenty pounds apiece with all the bleached linnens that is in the house, all
the shaped linnen and her shaped cloth and not to be prized the little
wheel, a chest, and the cubbert, after the decease of her husband John Caine
and not to be prized of aforesaid.
Item: She left to her sister Ellinor Kelly a cotten bed gown a black silk
cap or black hood and and a chest.
Item: She left to Mary Caine a new gown of beg wheel stuff and the old
silk cap or old black hood.
Item: She left the children and their goods to her beloved husband until
they come to age
Item: She left six pence to each person that will claim any right to her
will.
Item: She lastly nominated and appointed her beloved husband John Caine
sole executor of all the rest of her goods moveable and immoveable
whatsoever.
She left one shilling a piece to the witnesses of her will.

At a Chapter Court holden at KK Michael 10th Nov 1773.
The executor is sworn in court in form of law and has given pledges for
payment of debts and legacies namely Phil Brew and Thos Kelly both of Jurby.
The tuition of the children and their goods is committed to the said
executor pursuant to the will which was undertaken.
