At Castletown May 26 1773
James Black mariner, son of James Black & Ellinr. Black otherwise Callister otherwise Christian,
departed this life on the coast of Africa about three years ago as by Advice received Intestate – the
Court upon Intelligence thereof Decrees his sisters of the whole blood by the mother’s side namely
Ellinr. & Jane Callister, joint Adminces.of all his Goods & Chattels whatsoever – Chas. Gelling
husband of Jane being abroad, the Administration is committed unto S. Ellinor (Relict of Thos.
Corlet) & Janes and they are accordingly sworn for payment of Debts, as also to be just the one to
the other in the division of the Goods, & have given Pledges in form of Law namely John Christian &
Wm. Christian both of Rushen
