Know all men by these presents that I Robert
Killip of the Curraugh in the Parish of KK
Christ Lezaire and Jane Killip alias Corkill
my wife, for and in consideration of the natural
affection which we have & do bear towards our
son and Heir Wm Killip upon whose aid and
assistance we do now chiefly depend in our
declining years, and particularly as I the said
Robt Killip am Bed rid for many years past &
so the burthen of my affairs having hitherto 
laid upon my sd. Son and Heir without any ~~~~~
surety of satisfaction for all his defence & toil of 
troubles, as also for & in consideration of the 
further obligations herein after mentioned, Do
therefore by and with with (sic) the consent of Jane 
my wife aforesd. Settle and Estate upon our sd. son 
and Heir Willm. Killip All and Singular our 
Estate of Lands, whether Quarterland or Intack 
or of what kind nature or Denomination 
soever, whether Hereditary Lands Chattles or 
purchased Lands, Either in the parish of KK
Christ Lezaire or in the parish of Ballaugh or
else where, the one half of all and singular 
the premises to be possessed and enjoyed by 
our sd. Son and Heir William Killip Immediately 
after the Signing hereof and the other half of 

the premises after the Decease of the longer liver of us the sd.
Robt. Killip and Jane my wife aforesd free & Debtless
Save what is hereafter mentioned and the sd. Lands to
Pass fall and Descend in the nature of Inheritance 
And I do also further settle upon my sd. Son and Heir all
other my worldly Goods and Effects of what nature soever
the one half in present possession and the other half 
after my Decease as aforesd. He our sd. Son and Heir 
Wm. Killip in consideration of the above Deed of 
Settlement obliging himself to pay and give to his 
three brothers viz Robert John and Thomas Killip the
sum of fifteen pounds to be equally distributed between
them, as also ten sheep and ten Lambs, to be equally 
given and distributed between them in like manner
he our sd. son further obliging himself to pay to his

sister Jane Killip the sum of Three pounds and Ten shillings 
and to his sister Ann now the wife of Thos. Corlett, but
none of them to be paid until after the decease of me the sd.
Robt. Killip ~ and for the true & faithful performance
and one observance hereof and of every article clause 
and sentence herein before contained I the sd. Robt. Killip 
Senr. and Jane my wife aforesd. And Wm. Killip do 
hereby firmly bind & oblige ourselves the either party to the
other and our respective Heirs less adms. & assigns in and 
under the penalty & forfeiture of Five Hundred pounds 
sterling to be levied and paid according to the law and 
practice within this Isle as witness our names subscribed 
this 6th of September 1770.

William Killip one of the Subscribing parties to the
above before written Deed of Settlement acknowledged 
the same to be his proper Act & Deed and Wm. Cleator &
Daniel Cowle two of the subscribing witnesses deposed
on the Holy Evangelists that Robt. Killip and Jane 
Killip the other subscribing parties subscribed the 
Same in their presence Before me

	At a Baron or Sheading Court holden at
	Peeltown at Ayre Sheading this 6th May 
1771

The before going Deed of Settlement being acknowledged
and proved to before the Deemster and now openly 
published in court and (tear in page) the
same is therefore allowed of for and in the name and
behalf of the Most Noble John Duke of Atholl and 
Charlotte Duchess of Atholl Lord and Lady of the 
Manor & Confirmed by this Court.

At a Chapter Court holden at Lezayre Novr. 15th 1771
	The before going Deed of Gift having been proved before the Deemster
Confirmed in a Sheading Court holden at Peeltown the 6th May 1771 
The same is accepted as the Last Will of Testament of Robt. Killip
(cut off) of the Donon and William Killip the Donas is sworn Execr.
(cut off) Court in Form of Law hath given Pledges for the payment 
(cut off) Debts namely Wm. Quayle of Blockairy & John Caley of the 
(cut off)  both of Lezayre.

Killip Sons and Daughters of Robt. Killip of the Curaugh in the parish
of KK Christ Lezayre do acknowledge to have fully received from
our Brother Wm. Killip the part or portion of money and Effects
which was Due unto us by the last will and testament of our 
Dec’d father Robt. Killip in Lib 3tens Tostam: Anno Dei.
1774 – we therefore acquit Enumerate and Discharge our said
Brother Wm. Killip from any further Claim or Demand 
touching or relating the same – and we Desire and request
that the same may be Cancelled upon the Episcopal registry
as witness our subscriptions this 10th April 1776.
