The last will and testament of Wm Cooper of Peeltown 
who dyed on the fifteenth day of December 1776 being 
of perfect mind and memory at the making thereof.   
He committed his soul to God and his body to Christian burial.  
He left to his sons John & Philip Cooper his best 
apparell or new cloaths & shirts equally betwixt them.   
He left to his grandson Pattr: Lace his old cloathes 
and stockings.   
To his daughter Margarets children his old shirts.   
He left to his daughter Catharine Kneal als Cooper 
all that remains of the rents due from his tenants 
after the payment of his debts.    
To his son in law Pat Lace half a crown legacy.    
To his nephew Jon Cowll his rideing coat.    
He nominated & appointed his son & heir Charles 
Cooper whole Execr of all the rest of his goods 
of what nature soever excluding any other person 
that claims any right to his goods with six pence legacy.

At a Chapter Court holden at Peeltown 
June 17, 1776:  
Charles Cooper the Exr named in the within Will 
being at present a Grandmarine[?], and Willm: 
Quine being appointed his attorney by Power 
bearing date 9th Augt 1775 duly atte---[rest of word in fold] 
by the Deemster, he the sd Wm: Quine by consent 
of Cath Kneale als Cooper within named, & 
for the preservation of rights of all concerned, 
is sworn Execr: in trust of the above Will, & 
is to bring a perfect Inventory to the Registry 
as also payment of Debts as far as the Goods 
will extend & --- shall bind to which ends he 
has given Pledges in form of Law namely Caesar 
Wattleworth & James Caine both of KK German.
