This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of Anne Maxwell of
the parish of KK Michael who was weak in body but of a sound mind and memory
at the making thereof.
First she left and bequeathed to her brother William Caine a green gown for
a lining to his coat.
Secondly she left her brother John Caine a blue gown for a living for his
coast.
Thirdly she left likewise to her husband Thomas Maxwell a brown gown
for a lining to his coat.
To her sister Christian Grimshaw als Caine she bequeathed a bedgown
and a new pair of shoes.
She bequeathed to Jane Garrett a green petticoat
the remainder of all her apparel of what kind soever.  She left and
bequeathed to her mother Alice Caine
Eighthly she left and bequeathed to her son John Maxwell the sum of five
pounds British his grandfather John Caine the Barnagh promising at the same
time to pay him three pounds British provided the thereafter mentioned
executor Tho Maxwell allowed his wife the testatrix to leave
the son the above consideration sum of five pounds British.
She left the witnesses of the will a shilling each
Lastly she nominated constituted and appointed her loving husband
Thomas Maxwell executor of all her goods and effects moveable and immoveable
of what kind or nature soever.

William Corlett and Philip Corlet both of the parish of KK Michael
pledges for the due execution of the last will and testament of Ann
Maxwell of the said parish deceased having caused Thos Maxwell the executor
of the said will to be charged to appear before me to release them and to
give new pledges in that behalf, and the said Thos Maxwell having appeared
and produced John Cannell of East Ballacarnane and John Cannell of Chester
both of the said parish as his pledges.  They the said John Cannell and John
Cannell became bound for him in form of law, and
the said Wm Corlett and Philip Corlett thereupon released and discharged and
they are hereby released and discharge accordingly.

To be annexed to the last will and testament of Ann Maxwell recorded in the
Ep Reg Lib 2nd 1778.

At a Chapter Court holden at KK Michael Nov 17th 1778
The executor is sworn in court in form of law and also promises and engages
to pay unto his son John Maxwell the sum of five pounds British
as legacy bequeathed him by the testator John Cain the grandfather also
promises and engages to pay the sum of three pounds British to his said
grandson as expressed in the within will, Wm Caine and John Grimshaw uncles
by the mothers side sworn guardians of the said child under age. Pledges for
the payment of debts and legacies and the witness of the
will.  Probatum est   John Moore and Ev Christian

1791 July 26th 
John Maxwell having arrived at lawful years
acknowledges to have received the five pounds British bequeath him by
his mother from the hand of his father also the sum of three pounds British
from the hands of Wm Caine his uncle and executor of the last
will of John Caine of the Barnagh expressed in the above will and
exonerate acquit and discharges the said person and every other person
of the same and every part thereof.
