67                Lezayre
This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of 
ROBERT MOORE of Sulby in the parish of KK Christ Lezayre 
who departed this life on Sunday 26th January 1778, 
being of sound mind and memory at the making and 
declaring thereof some short time before his decease, 
And this his said will committed to writing by the 
subscribing witnesses thereunto upon Wednesday 28th 
of said month as follows.  
First, he committed his soul to God and his 
body to Christian burial.  
He left and bequeathed to each and every one of his 
four CHILDREN namely JOHN, PHILIP, JANE, & ELIZABETH 
MOORE half a crown apiece.  And to his loving WIFE 
all the rest of his goods.  He willed ordered and 
appointed his loving wife and Executrix hereafter 
mentioned ELIZABETH MOORE to take the sum of fourteen 
pounds in mortgage on his houses & gardens & 
concerns at BallaCooperagh.  And he also willed that 
his wife aforesaid should give shelter unto his 
SISTER MARGARET MOORE during her lifetime.  
Lastly, he constituted ordained and appointed his 
said loving WIFE ELIZABETH MOORE ALS KELLEY sole 
and whole Executrix of all the rest of his goods 
chattels and effects of what kind or nature soever.

AT A CHAPTER COURT HOLDEN at Lezayre May 22nd 1778: 
The Executrix is sworn in Court in 
form of Law & hath the tuition and 
maintenance of the children and their 
goods committed unto her, she is 
also sworn guardian and supervisor 
of the CHILDREN UNDER AGE.  Pledges 
for the payment of debts & legacies 
are Mr. Philip Garret of Ballabioie 
and James Brew of the Gilcaugh
