49             Maughold
In the name of God Amen.
I John Martin of the Roan in the parish of KK Maughold do make this my
last will and testament in manner following:
First I commit my soul to God and my body to Christian buryal.
I leave and bequeath to my daughters Margaret Stole alias Martin one
shilling legacy.
I leave to my grandson John Stole one sheep legacy.
I leave and bequeath the use and benefit of all my lands and goods to my
loving wife Marg Martin during her widowhood in case she survives me
and no longer.  And afterwards the whole of my said lands and goods to
fall to my two daughters Ann and Isable Martin equally between them.
And in case that either of my said daughters Ann or Isable shall happen
to dye before the age of twenty one years, that then the survivor is to
possess and enjoy the whole of my lands and goods aforesaid.
I do nominate and appoint my said daughters Ann and Isable Martin whole
excutrixes of all my goods and chattels of what kind or nature soever.  In
witness whereof I have hereunto set my name and mark this 12th day of May

At a Chapter Court holden at Lezayre June 27th 1781.  Isable Martin one of
the within executrixes being under age Ann the other executrix is
sworn in court in form of law to be true and just to her co-executrix and
also to bring to the Registry a perfect inventory.  Marg Martin the widow
is sworn guardian and supervisor of the child under age.  Pledges for
payment of debts and legacies are Wm Kneale and Edward Christian both
of KK Maughold.  Probtaum Est   Thos Cubbon.

The within named testator John Martin having appointed his two
daughters Ann and Isable Martin whole executrixes of all his goods and
chattels  they were to receive after the death of their mother Marg
Martin and the said Marg Martin having lately departed this life and
appointed her daughter Isable sole executrix.  I Thomas Creer husband of Ann
Martin one of the executrixes of her late deceased father John
Martin do hereby acknowledge to have rec'd the sum of twenty one pounds
eleven shillings and one penny three fartherings the same being that
share or moiety of her father's effects as appears by the inventory --------
and I do hereby requit release exonerate and discharge Isable
Martin executrix of the last will and testament of Marg Martin aforesaid
of all claims and demands on account of the same  as witness my subscription
