In the name of God Amen. Patrick Nelson of Ballarenny in the parish of KK
Michael being weak in body but of a sound mind and memory and calling to
mind the uncertainty of human life doth make this his last will and
testament in manner following:
First he comits his soul to God and his body to Christian burial.
Secondly He leave and beqeathes to his daughters Alice, Catharine, Mary, and
Anne Nelson twenty pounds to each, to be unto them paid the one half after
the testator's demise and the other half after his wife's death by his
eldest son Patrick Nelson.
Thirdly to his daughter Elinor Caine als Nelson he bequeathes six pounds and
to his son William Nelson four pounds, the said sums to be likewise paid by
said Patrick Nelson Junior.
Fourthly to his eldest son Patrick Nelson he leaves and bequeathes one half
of the purchased meadow land, half of the husbandry gears, crop, cattle,
horses, sheep and household furniture; the one half of all the above
particularized articles in present possession and the other half of said
mentioned goods after his wife's decease, hereby obliging him to pay the
above legacies.
Lastly he nominated constituted and appointed his loving wife sole
executrix of all his money and remaining effects of what kind or nature
whatever depriving any person or persons who should claimeth six pence
legacy. To the witness he left a shilling each. Patrick Nelson X

The executrix sworn in court in form of law and hath given pledges for the
payment of debts and legacies namely Thos Cannell of Fourtown and John

Catharine one of the daughters of the testator having arrived at lawful
years came this day to the Registry and received in my presence the sum of
ten pounds being the one half of the legacy bequeathed her by her father
Patrick Nelson and of which said sum she exonerates and discharges her
brother Patrick Nelson his heirs executors administrators and assigns. As
witness her mark annexed to her name Catharine Nelson my mark X This

Jun 14th 1784 William Clague husband of Mary Clague alias Nelson daughter of
the testator acknowledges to have received from Patrick Nelson the eldest
son within named ten pounds being the one half or moiety of the legacy
bequeathed his said wife Mary in this will and of wlhich said sum the said
William Clagues exonerates the said Patrick Nelson the son his heirs
executors administrators and assigns. As witness his mark X annexed to his

June 6th 1784 John Kelly husband of Alice Kelly alias Nelson acknowledges to
have received from Patrick Nelson the eldest son within named twenty pounds
being the whole of the legacy bequeathed his said wife Alice in the before
going will and he exonerates and discharges the said Patrick Nelson and
every other person of the same. As witness his mark annexed to his name
John Kelly my mark X

Wm Nelson acknowledges to have received from Patrick Nelson his brother the
sum of legacy being the remaining part of the legacy bequeathed to him by
the testator his father and payable by his brother Patrick. Witness his
hand the day and date above written.

William Caine husband of Elinor Cain alias Nelson acknowledges to have
received from Patrick Nelson the sum of six pounds bequeathed to his said
wife by her father Patrick Nelson senior deceased and hereby exonerates
acquits and discharges the said Patrick Nelson, Junior, and every other
person of the same and every person thereof. Witness his mark to his name
the day and date above written

James Kaighin husband of Catharine Kaighin alias Nelson acknowledges to have
received from Patrick Nelson son of the testator the sum of ten pounds being
in full of the legacy bequeathed John's said wife and exonerates acquits and
discharges the said Patrick Nelson and every other other person of the same
and of every part thereof. Witness his mark to his name this 15th Feb 1793

17th March 1785 Anne Nelson one of the daughters of Patrick Nelson deceased
having arrived at lawful years came this day to the registry and received in
my presence the sum of ten pounds being the one half of the legacy
bequeathed unto her by her father aforesaid from which said sum she
exonerates acquits and discharges her said brother his heirs executors
administrators and assigns. As witness her mark annexed to her name the day

William Nelson son of the testator acknowledges to have received from
Patrick Nelson his brother the sum of two pounds in part of the legacy
bequeathed unto him by his father Patrick of which sum the said William
Nelson exonerates and discharges the said Patrick his brother and every
other person as witness his subscription there in the day and year above

Wm Clague husband of Mary a legatee in the before going will acknowledged to
have received from Patrick Nelson son of the testator the sum of ten pounds
in full of the legacy bequeathed to his wife aforesaid and exonerates
acquits and discharges the said Patrick Nelson and every person of the same
and every part thereof. Witness his mark affixed to his name this 20th
March 1792 Wm Clague my mark X

I Edward Christian husband of Ann Christian alias Nelson a legatee mentioned
in the last will and testament do acknowledge to have received from Patrick
Nelson my brother in law the sum of ten pounds being in full of the legacy
bequeathed to my said wife in the will of her father and I do hereby
exonerate acquit and discharge the said Patrick Nelson and every other
person of the same and every part thereof. Witness my mark affixed to my
