          At a Chapter Court holden in Kk Patrick June 7th 1782
Wm Shimin perished by sea on or abt the 6th November last past in[testate] 
The Court upon intelligence thereof hath Decreed his four children Viz 
Wm, Thos, Ann and Richd joint admons of all his goods and Chattels moveable 
and immoveable whatsoever, who living all under age then their mother Christian 
Shimin is sworn well and truly to administer the Goods of the Intestate to 
pay all his just debts so far forth as the Goods will extend and the Law 
shall bind her to return a perfect Inventory thereof to the Registrar of 
this Court. And with John Shimin the uncle by the father’s side is also 
sworn guardian and supervisor of the Children. And hath given pledge in 
form of Law namely Wm Quine and John Shimin both of Patrick.

An account of Goods kept by Christian Shimin Relict of the Deceased Wm Shimin 
of Kk Patrick to her own use from being aprized or put in Wm Shimin’s Inventory.

To five yards of Chequar and half a Guinea and a Guinea and some woollen 
thread for stuff for Clothes to cover the Children and three old shirts 
and a new shirt for the use of the Children and a pair of stockings which 
she kept from being aprized and the said Cash she kept to Discharge her 
Expenses in Child Bed if the Revnd Court accepteth of the same this 30th of May 1782

 
A true and perfect Inventory of the assets of Wm Shimin of KK Patrick who 
perished at the Herring fishing made by four sworn men viz.  John Kenniaugh, 
Richard Quirk, Patrick Sayle and Henry Callister being charged and sworn to 
apprize the said assets which is as in manner following this 15th November 1781
