22 Kirk Patrick
This is affirmed to be the Last Will and
Testament of Patrick Key of the parish of
Kirk Patrick who departed this life about
the second day of November 1782 Being in
perfect mind and memory at the making thereof.
First: He committed his soul to Almighty God
and his body to Christian Burial.
Item: He left unto his daughter Margret Bridson
his new loom and his part of the Gears belonging
to the said loom together with the sum of Twenty
Shillings and two coarse shirts and his blue coat
and the vest that he used under the said coat and
his grey breeches and his grey stockings and all
his part of the sheep that was then in John Moor
of Dorlish [?] care and keeping.
Item: He left unto his daughter Jane Carran all
the rest of his shaped clothes.
Item: He left unto his son in law Patrick Carran
all whatever [dealings] that was between him and
his said son in law that no person was to crave
or sue the said Patrick Carran for the same.
Item: He left unto his wife Ellinor Key the two
armed chair while she would reside in this parish
of Kirk Patrick and if she would leave this parish
and reside in any other parish she was not to
obtain or get the said chair but that his said
daughter Jane Carran was to possess the said chair
after the Death of the said Ellinor Key or at any
time that she the said Ellinor Key would leave the parish.
Lastly: He nominated and appointed his Daughter
Catherine Key to be whole and sole Executrix of all
the Rest of his Goods and Effects of what kind soever
moveable and unmoveable excluding all other Craving
persons with Sixpence apiece Legacy.

Kirk Patrick June 20th 1783.
The Executor is sworn in court in form of Law
and hath given Pledges for the payment of Debts
and Legacies namely Henry Waterson and Philip
Collister both of Kirk Patrick.
June 14th 1784
Patrick Karran son in law to the within testator
Patrick Key acknowledged to be fully paid and
satisfied for whatever was due him by the Last
Will and Testament of Patrick Key and acquitted
released exonerated and discharged the Executor
of the Last Will and Testament of Patrick Key of
all and every part of the same witness his mark
to be his name.

I William Bridson of the Parish of Kirk Malew do
acquit and discharge my sister in law Katrin Key
of the parish of Kirk Patrick of all accounts as
witness my hand belong to my father in law Patrick Key.
