I Catherine Halsal widow of the town of Douglas duly recollecting the
uncertainty of this transitory life and being but weak in body but of
sound mind and memory - Do publish and declare as follows to be my last will
and testament.
I commit my soul to God and my body to Christian burial.
First I leave to my two grand daughters Margaret and Catharine Callow forty
pounds each to be paid them when they arrive at the age of twenty one years
or sooner should they marry with their parents consent. Secondly I leave to
my other four grand daughters Namely Jane, Sophia, Elizabeth, and Amelia
Callow twenty pounds each to be paid them as
above.
Thirdly I leave to my three grandsons George, William, and Sylvester
Callow ten pounds each to be paid them when they come to the above age as
above.
Fourthly I leave to my nephews or kinsman William and Joseph Garrett
one guinea each.
Fifthly I leave to the poor of the town of Douglas five pounds to be laid
out at interest by the Wardens of said town that said interest may be yearly
distributed amongst such objects as the minister or Wardens
shall think proper.
Lastly I nominate, constitute and appoint, my son in law William Callow
and my daughter Amelia Callow his wife, whole and sole executors of all
my goods, chattels, and effects moveable or immoveable of what kind or
nature so ever.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my mark to my name this 28th August
1781
