Rushen
The last will and testament of John Costain of
Ballakilpatrick in the parish of Trinity Rushen
Who being weak but of a sound Mind
and Memory did make this his last Will
and Testament in manner following, who departed
this life the 4th day of May 1784.
First He commended his soul to Almighty God
and his Body to Christian Burial.
Item He Left & bequeathed to his niece Joney Keig
the Sum of Eight Pounds.
Item He Left & bequeathed to his Grand-Son John
Christian, the sum of Three pounds & likewise
Two or three of his Books [one] of them the second
Volume of the Manks Bible.
Item He Left & bequeathed to his Daughter Jane
Christian als Costain the Sum of Twenty
Shillings
My part of the
Item He Left & bequeathed to his Daughter
Alice Hutchin als Costain the Sum of Twenty
Shillings
Item He Left & bequeathed to his loving Wife Alice
Costain als Gawne, his half of the Bed, Bed-
Cloathes and Bolster, and likewise his Moiety
of the Sheep.
Lastly He Nominated, Constituted and Appointed
His Son-in-Law, Christopher Bell, Sole Exr. of
All the rest of his Goods and Cutting all Claimers
with Six pence Each
