In ye name of God Amen. I John Moughtin of ye parish of Jurby being in a
declining state and condition of body but of sound perfect and disposing
mind and memory do make and constitute this my last will and testament in
manner following:
First I commit my soul to God and my body to ye earth to be buried in a
decent manner at ye discretion of my executors hereafter named.
Secondly I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Elinor Kaighin als Moughtin
all my right title property claim and interest whatever in and unto a
certain parcel of meadow commonly called and know by ye name of ye Pease as
ye same is now bounded and fenced being intack land of ye annual Lords rent
of three pence, to be by her entered upon possession held and enjoyed and
upon the decease of her mother Catharine Moughtin and not till then. It
being intended and hereby provided that her mother aforesaid is to have and
enjoy ye benefit of ye whole parcel aforementioned during her natural life.
Also I leave and bequeath unto my two sons Arthur and David three pounds
each and ye same to be paid once their said sister Elinor Kaighin
aforementioned in lieu and consideration of ye aforesaid legacy left unto
her immediately at and upon her possession the said meadow or sooner if she
shall think fit.
Also I leave and bequeath unto my son John Moughtin the sum of forty
shillings being part of the six pounds which he owes and is indebted to me
for.
Lastly I constitute ordain and appoint my loving wife Cathrine Moughtin and
my son Patrick joint executors of all ye rest of my goods and effects
movable and immovable of what kind or nature forever. In testimony whereof
I have unto put my hand and caused my name to be subscribed this second day
of Febry 1784.

Signed, declared and pronounced by ye testator as his last will and
testament in ye presence of us.

The aforenamed testator nunrecuperatively left six pence legacy to whosoever
would claim any further right to his effects and one shilling British to
each of the witness of his will in presence of ye before subscribing
witnesses.
At a Chapter Court holden at KK Michael June 15 1784.
The executors are sworn in Court in form of Law and also to be true and just
the one to the other in the division of the effects and have given Pledges
for the payment of Debts and Legacies namely Danl Lace one of the witnesses
and Danl Kneale both of Jurby

John Moughtin of Jurby having by his last will and testament bequeathed unto
David Moughtin the sum of three pounds legacy to be paid after the decease
of his the testators wife, I the said David Moughtin do hereby acknowledge
to be fully paid the said legacy of three pounds bequeathed unto me as
aforesaid and do hereby release exonerate and discharge the executor of the
said John Moughtin of all claims and demands far as on account of the same.

Arthur Moughtin the sum of three pounds legacy to be paid after the decease
his the testators wife. I the said Arthur Moughtin do hereby acknowledge to
be fully paid the said legacy of three pounds and do acquit and discharge
the executor of the last will of said John Moughtin of all demands for the
same. Witness my hand this 1st Jan 1805
