In the name of God Amen.
We John Cretney and Abigail Cretney alias Gell my wife of the parish of
KK Marown being indisposed.  Do make this our joint will and testament
the 27th day of November 1781 in manner as follows.
First we commit our souls to God and our bodies to Christian burial.
Secondly We bequeath to our son John Cretney five pounds legacy. Thirdly We
bequeath to our son Thomas Cretney five pounds legacy. Fourthly We bequeath
to our son James Cretney five pounds Legacy. Fifthly We bequeath to our
daughter Ellinor Cowle alias Cretney five pounds legacy. Sixthly We bequeath
to our daughter Ann Cannell alias Cretney five
pounds legacy.
Sevently We bequeath to our daughter Catherine Corlett alias Cretney
five pounds legacy.
Eighthly We do acquit and discharge our son Robert Cretney from the payment
of any sum or sums of money whatsoever that is due to us touching or in
regard to the land that the said Robert Cretney now lives
in and that no person or persons may fall or recurr upon the said Robert
Cretney for any due or demands respecting the said land aforementioned after
our decease and likewise we leave six pence legacy to all claimers. Lastly
we nominate constitute and appoint our two sons namely William Cretney and
Robert Cretney joint executors of all the rest of our effects moveable and
immoveable whatsoever.

At a Chapter court holden at Bemaghaj in the parish of KK Conchan Nov 3d
1785.  John Cretney and Abigail Cretney having both departed this life
Wm Cretney and Robert Cretney are sworn joint executors in form of law and
also to be true and just the one to the other in the division of the effects
and have given pledges for payment of debts and legacies namely the
witnesses of the will.   Probatum est    Joh: Moore and Ev:Christian.
We John Cretney, Thomas Cretney, James Cretney, Robert Cowle husband of
Ellinor Cowle als Cretney, William Corlett husband of Catharine
Corlett als Cretney, Wm Cannell husband of Ann Cretney do acknowledge
to have received the legacies of five pounds bequeathed to each of us in the
beforegoing will and do exonerate, acquit, and discharge Wm Cretney and
Robert Cretney the exors and every other person of the same and every part
thereof as witness our names and marks this 9th day of April 1878.
