In the name of God, amen.  I Ellinor Bridson alias Kissack 
widow and relict of John Bridson of Ballacrink in the parish 
of Malew lately deceased am at present weak and infirm in 
body but of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding, 
and considering well the certainty of death and the 
uncertainty of this world life do make this my last will 
and testament in manner and form following: 
First, I commit my soul to God and my body to decent Christian burial.  
Item, I bequeath unto my son William Bridson the sum 
of twenty shillings and to his daughter Ann ten shillings.  
Item, I leave and bequeath unto my two grandchildren 
my son Thomas two daughters namely Ann and Elizabeth 
the sum of ten shillings each.  
Item, I bequeath to all claimers that shall pretend 
to claim any right in this my last will and testament six pence each legacy.  
And lastly, I nominate, constitute, ordain and 
appoint my dutiful son Thomas Bridson sole executor 
of all the rest of my worldly goods and effects moveable 
and immovable of what kind, nature or denomination soever.  I
n witness whereof I have hereunto set my mark to 
my name this 27th day of December one thousand seven hundred and eighty.

At a Chapter Court holden at Castletown May 31, 1785, 
notwithstanding this will is proved buy by one witness, 
yet as no objection has been offered, the executor 
is sworn in court in form of law and hath given pledges 
for payment of debts and legacies vizt., John Bridson 
& Thomas Fargher, both of Malew
