Braddan
At a Consistory Court holden at KK Michael on the 28th day of Sept 1786. The
Revd Julius Cosnahan Clerk Bachelor of Arts and Vicar of the Parish
of KK Braddan having departed this life in or about the month of August last
past intestate and without issue, and this court having received
intelligence thereof have decreed his brother Joseph Cosnahan and his
sisters namely, Jane, Margaret, Ann, and Catherine Cosnahan joint
administrators of all his goods rights credits chattels and effects
movable and immovable whatever, and the said administrators having
surrendered and relinquished their right to the administration of the estate
of the intestate to Margaret Cosnahan als Moore his relict by deed of
resignation and surrender hereunto annexed, she the said Margaret Cosnahan
als Moore is thereupon sworn well and truly to administer the said estate,
to return a perfect inventory thereof to the registry of this court, and to
pay all the just debts of her intestate so far forth as his goods and
effects will extend and the law shall bind her, and to these
ends she hath given pledges in form of law namely Francis DelaPryme of the
parish of KK Malew and James Kelly Attorney at Law of Castletown.
Decretum Est John:Moore, Ev:Christian.
Whereas Julius Cosnahan Clerk, Vicar of the parish of Braddan lately
died intestate and that we whose names hereunto subscribed are the
next of kin to the said Julius Cosnahan, and are therefore legally entitled
to take out Letters of Administration to the goods, chattels, and effects
that the said Julius Cosnahan died possessed of and Whereas we have a regard
for the memory of the said Julius Cosnahan and cannot at present testify the
same in a stronger manner, then by relinquishing our rights
to the said goods, credits, and effects to Margaret Cosnahan. We do
therefore hereby give, grant, transfer, and make over to her the said
Margaret Cosnahan all our rights, title, and claim that we are legally
entitled to the said goods, chattels, and effects. And we do hereby
authorize and appoint her to take out Letters of Administration to the
said Julius Cosnahan in order to pay of all his legal debts and demands so
far as the goods will extend and the remainder if any, for her own
private use and property. In witness whereof we have hereunto
subscribed our names the 26th day of Sep 1786.
