In the name of God Amen.  The Last Will and Testament of Thomas Key of Ball Elby in the 
parish of Kirk Patrick in the presence of us the subscribing witnesses on the 14th April 1789 
being in perfect mind and memory at the making thereof.  First he committed his Soul to 
Almighty God and his body to Christian Burial.

Item:  He left sixpence legacy to Philip Kinloey (Kinley) and his wife.
Item:  He left sixpence legacy to Patrick Waterson and his wife.
Item:  He left sixpence legacy to Thomas Karran and his wife.
Item:  He left sixpence legacy to Thomas Cashin and his wife.
Item:  He left sixpence legacy to Patrick Corlett and his wife.
Item:  He left sixpence legacy to Thomas Key of Knockmoar.
Item:  He left sixpence legacy to Thomas Key of the Butt.
Item: He left the sum of five pounds legacy to John Key of Broal renney and his wife between 
them.
Item: He left the sum of five pounds to William Gell Junior of Ballelby which was in the 
hands of John Key of Broal renney.  Lastly he nominated and appointed his loving friends 
William Gell senior and Margaret his wife of Ball Elby to be whole and Sole Executors of all 
the rest of his Goods and Effects of what kind soever moveable and unmoveable Excluding 
all other craving friends with such Legacies as the Law Directs.

The Executor is sworn in court in form of Law and hath given his pledges for the payment of 
Debts and Legacies namely Patrick Waterson and John Ellison both of  Kirk Patrick

Patrick Corlett claims on behalf of his wife £2.2s
1790 October 11th John Key of Bolrenny and William Gell of Ball Elby acknowledge to have 
received from William Gell senior the sum of five pounds each (and hereby) bequeathed to 
them by Thomas Key deceased and hereby exonerate and acquit and discharge the said       
Executor giving other person of the same ? every part thereof witness their hand ? and             
the day and date above written.
