In the name of God Amen.
I Catharine Bridson relict and widow of John Bridson late of Boltain in
the parish of Malew deceased mindful of the uncertainty of human life
and blessed with sound disposing mind and memory thanks be to God for
it, do, revoking all other wills and settlements by me already made,
make this my last will and testament in manner following.
I commit my soul to the mercy of my Creator relying on the merits of my
Redeemer Jesus Christ and my body to decent Christian burial.
In the next place I leave and bequeath to my son John the sum of Eleven
Pounds and to his wife one of the three black horses.
Item I leave and bequeath to my son Philip the sum of six pounds.
Item I leave and bequeath to my son Robert the sum of eleven pounds. Item:
I leave and bequeath to my daughter Ann the sum of three guineas a year to
be paid her by my executor hereinafter mentioned, a heifer, a chest of
drawers, two sheep, all my wearing apparel, half of all other
linnen and woollen, manufactured, the best furnished half the crop of
flax which may be at my decease. And over the sum of forty pounds in case
of matrimony or any other laudable necessary purpose agreeable to herself
which said sum when paid is to exclude and debar her from the annuity before
mentioned.
Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my son Arthur Bridson (accountable
for all debts and legacies) sole executor and residuary legatee of all and
singular my houses, lands, both purchased and mortgages, cash, credits and
effects of whatsoever nature excluding all other persons with six pence
legacy each. In testimony whereof I have caused my name and mark to be
subscribed this 22d day of June 1790. Catharine Bridson.

At a Chapter Court holden at Castletown on the 13th day of October
1790.
The executor is sworn in court in form of law and hath given pledges for the
payment of debts and legacies namely the witnesses of the will.
