46 Ramsey
In the name of God Amen. I William Christian of the
Town of Ramsey, being sick & weak in body but of
perfect mind & memory praised be God, do for
avoiding controversies after my decease make publish
& declare this my last will & testamt in manner following.
First, I recommend my soul to God that gave it &
my body to a Christian burial, and as for such worldly
goods as God has been pleased to bless me with, I bequeath
& dispose thereof as followeth, that is to say, I leave
and bequeath to my son William Christian all & singular
my houses backside and garden in Ramsey, with all the
furniture in the dwelling hourse, together with a small
meadow called Close E Geal, in the parish of KK Christ
Lezaire, all these Legacies aforesd my wife is to have
the benefit & use of them during her life time, & then
after her decease my said son is to enjoy & possess the
aforesd mentioned premises.
Item, I leave & bequeath to my two daughters Margery
and Jane half a guinea each as Legacy.
Item, I leave & bequeath six pence legacy to each craiver
that will sue to break or disannul this my last will
& testament.
Lastly I do nominate constitute & appoint my loving wife
Isabel Christian als Corkill whole & sole Execx of all
the rest of my goods & effects moveable & unmoveable
of what kind or nature soever.
In witness whereof I have here unto subscribed my name
this the 22 of Marth 1790, William Christian.

At a Chapter Court holden at Lezayre
June 17th 1790:
Notwithstandint this will is proved but by one witness yet
as no objection has been offered, The Execx is sworn in
Court in form of Law & hath given pledges for the payment
of debts and legacies namely Edmond Kerruish of KK Maughold
& Edwd Christian one of the witnesses.
Probatum est,

I James Riley husband of Margery Christian the within
named legatee do hereby acknowledge to have received
the sum of half a guinea the same being a legacy
bequeathed my sd wife Margery by the last will and
testamt of her father Wm Christian, & I do hereby acquit
release exonerate & discharge the Execx of the last
will & testamt of sd Wm Christian of all & every part
of sd Legacy of half a guinea witness my subscription
this 8th Augt 1791, James Riley.

I John Quayle husband of Jane Christian the within
named Legatee do hereby acknowledge to be fully paid
the sum of half a guinea the same being a legacy
bequeathed my sd wife Jane by the last will & testamt
of her father Wm Christian & I do hereby acquit release
exonerate & discharge the Execx of the last will
will & testamt of the sd Wm Christian of all & every
part of sd Legacy of half a guinea witness my hand
this 17th Sept 1791, John Quayle.
