31     Arbory
This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of Robert Maddrell of
the parish of KK Arbory who departed this life on the 3 day of April 1791
being in perfect mind and memory at making the same.
Item:  He commended his soul to God and his body to Christian burial.
Item He left unto his son John his best desk his part of the husbandry
geers, some picks, a cow, and all the other utensils belonging to the
farm the half of the crop, as also the half of the plow beasts.
He left unto his son Henry a desk and the sum of twenty pounds.
He left unto his two daughters Elizabeth and Margaret Maddrell the sum
of one hundred pounds a piece.
Lastly He nominated constituted and appointed his loving wife sole executor
of all the rest of his goods moveable and immoveable of what kind or nature
so ever and appointed his two said sons John and Henry trustees for the due
and proper managers of the above said legacies bequeathed unto his said
daughters.
The wife  Elinor Maddrell has this day consented to the above will before
the witness as witness her hand and mark.          Elinor Maddrell

At a Chapter Court holden at Castletown 1791.
The executrix sworn with pledges being John and Henry Maddrell her
sons.

Recd from Mrs Elinor Maddrell my mother in law the sum of £50 being part
of the dowry or portion devised unto me per contract bearing date
the 9th March 1792 as witness my subscription this 1st day of June
1793.  John Gell

April 7th 1795.  Rec from the said Elinor Maddrell the further sum of eleven
pounds and six pence on account of said dowry as witness my hand day and
date above written.   John Gell

July 25 1797.  Rec from Ellinor Maddrell the further sum of twenty-two
pounds nineteen shillings and six pence being in full of said dowry or
portion by me John Gell.

Margaret Maddrell rec'd 100 pounds 26 Aug 1791.
