In the name of God Amen
I Mathew Crellin of Beary in the parish of Kirk German being sick and
weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to God and
calling to mind the uncertainty of human life and to avoid disputes after my
decease do make this my last will and testament in manner and form
following:
First I commend my soul to God and by body to Christian burial.
I leave and bequeath unto my two daughters Jane and Christina the sum
of five shillings each.
I leave and bequeath unto Thos Kelly the sum of one shilling.
I leave and bequeath unto James Crellin the sum of one shilling.
I leave and bequeath unto my Grandson John Kelly that half of a heifer
that is between me and said grandson.
I leave and bequeath unto my daughters Cathrine and Margt my quarter in
Ballavaish to be their property all their life time and after said Cath and
Margt decease to come to the Poor of the Parish of KK German to be their
right and property forever.
I leave to the witness of this will one shilling each every day the will
have trouble
Lastly I constitute nominate and appoint my daughter Cath and Margt to
be the whole executorixes of all the rest of my goods moveable and immovable
what kind soever to be their right and property and I do
appoint John Harrison of Kirk Malew executor in trust over my daughters and
I do exclude and debarr all other person or persons with six pence legacy
who shall sue to the contrary, hereof witness my subscription

At a Chapter Court holden at the house of Thos Quine Catherine and Margaret
Crellin the residuary legatees name in the beforegoing will
being both deaf and dumb and John Harrison the executor in trust appointed
by the said will having refused to undertake the burden and execution
thereof the vicar and church wardens of the parish of KK German are hereby
ordered to find and recommend a proper person to execute the said will and
to be guardian and supervisor of the said Catharine and Margaret Crellin.

At a Consistory Court holden in the house of Thomas Quine the parish of Kirk
Patrick on the 8th day of December 1792.
At KK Patrick on 15 Dec 1794.
The Vicar and Church wards of the parish of KK German having prevailed upon
and recommended Ahab Sayle of Beary in the said parish as a proper person to
execute the said will and to be guardian of the said Catharine
and Margaret Crellin. He the said Ahab Sayle is thereupon sworn in trust of
the said will to be guardian and supervisor of the said Catharine and
Margaret Crellin to return a true full and perfect inventory of all goods
rights credits chattels and effects of the testator to the registry of the
court and to accountable for the trust reposed in him when thereunto
lawfully required and hath given pledges for the payment of debts and
legacies namely Thomas Kelly of KK German yeoman and John Starkey of KK
Patrick (Miller) Probatum est Ev Christian, Wm Clucas
