In the Name of God Amen
I John Kaighin of the Parish of Kirk Michael being in 
my Declining years and weak in body But Blessed be God 
I am of sound mind and Perfect memory and thinking upon 
the uncertainty and shortness of this mortal life and 
Unwilling that any Dispute should arise Amongst my 
family after my Decease I do make this my last will 
and testament in Form and Manner following ­


First, I commit my soul to God and body to Christian burial
Item. I leave and bequeath to my son and heir John Kaighin 
my part of the crop with two plough --- and my part of 
the husbandry gears and my shaped apparel.
Item. I leave and bequeath to my two Eldest Daughters namely 
Margaret and Ann Kaighin the sum of Twenty Five Pounds each.
Item. I leave and bequeath to my youngest Daughter Catherine 
Kaighin the sum of Ten Pounds.
Item. I leave and bequeath to my two youngest sons Namely 
Charles and William Kaighin the sum of five Pounds each.
And lastly I nominate and appoint my beloved wife whole and 
sole Excrx of all rest of my goods Moveable and immovable 
of what kind or Denomination soever Excluding all other 
person or persons that will Claim any right or title to 
this my last will and testament with one shilling legacy 
this the ? day of Janry 1791.

At a Chapter Court holden at KK Michael June 20th 1792
The Exrx sworn in Court in form of Law & also Guardian 
& supervisors of the children under age and hath given 
pledges for the payment of Debts and Legacies namely 
Thomas Cannell and John Corjeag … witnesses, both of Kirk Michael
Probatum Est

I William Kaighin do hereby acknowledge to have received from 
my Mother Elizabeth Kaighin the Execx of the Last Will and 
Testament of John Kaighin of Kerrooglass in KK German the 
Legacy of Five Pounds bequeathed unto me in the Will & do 
exonerate acquit and discharge the said Elizth Kaighin her 
Execs, Admins and Assigns of every other Person of the Same 
and every part thereof. 
As Witness my subscription this 21st Sept 1807.

John Cannell Husband of Margaret Kaighin acknowledged to have 
received from Elizabeth Kaighin Execx of the last Will and 
Testament of John Kaighin of KK German decd the Legacy of 
twenty five pounds bequeathed unto his said Wife in and by 
the said Will at … by exonerate, acquit and discharge the 
said Elizth Kaighin her execs, Admins, assigns of the same 
& every part thereof. As witness his Name & mark 
this 21st October 1807
