42 Rushen The last will and testament of Henry Gawne of the Rowany in Kirk Christ Rushen who departed this life the 9th day of Jan 1793. First he commended his soul to Almighty God and his body to a Christian burial. Secondly He left and bequeathed his part of the crop to his son William Gawne. Thirdly He bequeathed to Edward Keggin three furlongs of barley and to be given him by his son William Gawne out of said Crop. Fourthly He bequeathed to the poor of the parish the sum of twenty shillings. Fifthly He bequeathed to all claimers six pence legacies each. Lastly He nominated constituted and appointed his son John Gawne and his daughter Jane Kelly also Gawne whole and sole executors of all the rest of his goods movable and immovable whatsoever. Witnesses: Edmund Christian Phillip Kennagh Jurati At a Chapter Court holden at Castletown June 12 1793. John Gawne and Wm Kelly husband of Jane Kelly are sworn executors in court in form of law as also to be true and just the one to the other in the division of the effects, and hath given pledges for the payment of debts and legacies namely the witnesses of the will.
